Grange School Celebrates Global Read Aloud Day 2024

At Grange School, we believe in the transformative power of reading!

We were thrilled to participate in Global Read Aloud Day 2024, an event celebrated worldwide to promote literacy and the joy of reading. Held on the 7th and 8th of February 2024, our school came alive with a multitude of activities aimed at fostering a culture of reading and sharing among our students.

One of the highlights of our Global Read Aloud Day celebration was the involvement of our Year 10 students, who took on the role of storytellers for the younger children in Early Years (Reception and Nursery) and Primary. Witnessing our older students engage with and inspire our younger learners through the magic of storytelling was truly heartwarming.

Meanwhile, our Secondary School students gathered at the Gazebo Hall for a special reading session. We were honored to host a guest author, Jacqueline Agweh, who not only shared her stories but also imparted valuable insights into the world of literature.

Throughout the two days, the atmosphere at Grange School was filled with the buzz of excitement and the rustle of turning pages. Students immersed themselves in the world of books, discovering new stories, ideas, and perspectives. It was a wonderful learning experience that reinforced the importance of reading not only for academic success but also for personal growth and enrichment.

As we reflect on the success of this year's Global Read Aloud Day, we look forward to continuing our efforts to promote literacy and instill a passion for reading in the hearts of our students. Together, we can cultivate a generation of curious minds and imaginative thinkers who are ready to embrace the world through the pages of a book.

Stay tuned for more exciting literary adventures at Grange School!
