Grange School at the weekend won the Ikoyi Club 1938 inter-school swimming gala for Secondary Schools after amassing 12 gold, 11 silver and eight bronze.
British International School finished second with eight gold, seven silver and two bronze while Children’s International Schools came third after winning five silver and six bronze at the event sponsored by Zenith Bank.
Fifteen-year-old Nulia Nwokolo was the star athlete for Grange as she won four gold in 15-16 years butterfly girls, backstroke girls, freestyle girls and freestyle relay girls.
Amaka Kanu of XFactor team won the best overall female award, with Omooluwani Obatoyinbo of BIS going home with the best overall male award.
Adewole Adekoye of Grange was the best 11-12 male athlete while the female version was won by Amaka Kanu of XFactor. The best 13-14 award went to Obatoyinbo of BIS as Feechi Odinkalu also of BIS won the female category.
Olaseni Adekeye and Nwokolo of Grange won the best 15-16 male and female respectively.
The chairman, swimming section of Ikoyi Club 1938, Segun Adekoya, commended Zenith Bank for sponsoring the competition.
